SanDisk hasn't updated their G-RAID Shuttle projects in a while and appear to be using software from Promise to get M1 compatibility. This is for video editing on several long projects, so I don't want to keep swapping SSDs or single external HDDs.īut I hear such hairy stories about OWC and haven't gotten M1 Max /Thunderbolt 4 benchmarks from them (they're good about posting benchmarks, but they all seem to be from older Intel-based iMac Pro machines). At this point, I'm open to 4, 6, or 8-bay solutions. Still looking for an external RAID 5 or RAID 6 system with 32TB or more of usable space (i.e., after subtracting the RAID overhead). Specifically, I have a Mac Studio M1 Max, 64GB RAM, 1TB internal SSD. I'm having a hard time finding out if Thunderbolt RAID systems are working reliably and quickly on Mac Studio systems.
